Ignore Allen’s advice. He will have looking for a driver that isn’t available for download as it has been removed. 462 doesn’t contain anything extra over 457 for your base but is the one that is available. Therefore, if you’re going to do an update you should do 462.
462 quick feedback: I have just upgraded my base (DD+) FW from 454 to 462. I play GT7 on PS5.
With 454 I don't have any major problem. Just a tiny one that sometimes after I went out of the pit the wheel rotation became less than indicated in-game. I had to pause unpause to solve it.
With 462, this problem is not seen in the past hours, still needs further play to confirm I suppose. Other things like FFB or LEDs etc. are identical with 454, no problems.

i not advice him anything, i just tell him that 462 contains the 457 firmware, if you not been read anything then fanatec was focusing the Clubsport DD(++) disconnect issues, there are no changes about other hardware since 457

His question was should he use 462. You said that he should use 457, “it’s a 457 for you”. As 457 doesn’t exist I’m saving him looking for it.

Because of bigger real issues like the CS DD disconnection issue which is way more critical as it makes driving almost impossible - The new feature of the Xbox SDK are still on the list to hopefully be added to the firmware late this year or early next year at the latest.
Note: In the end it is still up to the game developers to add the Xbox SDK into their games (which was shared to game devs already one year ago as the SDK is finished already since a long time), but currently only Forza Motorsport implemented that SDK. No other game would benefit from the enhanced Xbox features right now anyway even if the features would (finally) be implemented in the firmware...
Could at least start with giving us RSB + LSB as these buttons are already shipped and labeled RSB + LSB but function as RB + LB instead.

When you connect base error is popping out that some (.dll) file is missing
it could be that some visual studio .dll are missing, they usually not added by default to the windows and need download separately
what dll error message you get exactly?

As Maurice has said - THERE WILL BE NO DIFFERENCE. It will probably be just a renamed file...
I know that but it may be easier install. Manual file was the issue I was having. If we wait and just install the normal one when added it should work if u get me.

Install Will be the same as the package will be the same without any difference at all when we decide to take the RC as official so the one you can download now would be the same as the one in maybe 2 weeks...😅 when it's not working now, then it wont work in 2 weeks. You need to repair your Windows.

We installed other updates wheel etc with no issues. Just the manual file would not work. What I’m trying to say is that when it’s release I can surely just hit install for the base and it should work like the wheel did etc.

when it’s released to public properly can I just hit update and it will work. We updated my wqr and button endurance without any issues. Hopefully u understand me as I’m not great with computer stuff.

Unfortunately I dont understand you at all.
You dont need to Hit any manual Box. You need to uninstall your old driver, run the installer of the new driver, restart the pc, open the Control Panel, go to the Firmware Update Tab, open the Firmware Manager, click the green Update button, done.... No need to do anything manually with 462.

Because developing for a System where no Simracing games are supported so the products are not supported anyway in any Form is not really important when you have other big issues to fix. Also, no other Simracing manufacturer develops for Mac.

What Windows do you have? The driver only works on Win 10/11. Anything before (Win 7) wont work

There COULD be some undocumented changes in FW.
The SW FW in 456 fixed the miss-click issue of funky switch in f1 2.5x wheel, which is no where to be found in 456‘s change log.
So it's worth trying, but no guarantee.
