  • Quickfix for RacePro Force Feedback bug

    • By default Race Pro does not support true ForceFeedback on the PWTS and the Microsoft wheel by default. It is obviously a bug and will probably be patched. In the meantime you can use the following fix:

      1. Turn off the console

      2. Start the console by pressing the xbox gude button on the Xbox360 controller which then will be selected as "controller 1" (do not start the game yet)

      3. Activate the wheel by pressing the  Xbox guide button so the wheel becomes "controller 2".

      4. Start RacePro

      5. Press "A" on the controller to enter the game main menu

      6. Press the Xbox guide button on the controller

      7. Press "X" on the controller to disconnect your profile and confirm

      8. Press "B" on the controller to return to the game but from now on use the wheel to confirm the warning messages with "A".

      9.  Press the xbox guide button on the wheel and connect to your profile again.

FF works now but it is quite weak in comparison to Forza 2.

      Thanks to SCGOR01 and Broddee!

      A) Due to technical reasons we have two different webshops:

USA/Canada and EU/ rest of the world

If you have website sitors of both regions you need to register in both shops for the affiliate program.

An EU Banner only works for EU customers and an US banner only works for US customers. We hope to change that very soon so it will be more convenient.

      B) Please leave the field "Affilliate ID - I was recommended by:" empty if you do not have the ID of an existing affilliate partner

      C) Due to technical reasons it is not possible to select "USA" in the EU shop. Please select any other country until we solved this problem. Similar problem if you are from the EU and try to register in the US shop.

Let's start and earn some money:

      EU affiliate program:

  • Production status 911 GT3 RS with Clubsport pedals

    • The Clubsport pedals are ready for production but there was a small delay because we forgot to add some resistors and needed to rework all units to make them work perfect.

The biggest problem on the GT3RS is the capacity of the assembly of leather wheel rims.

But both products will be produced this month and shipped right after that so we are confidentto deliver everything at the end of march.

Unfortunatly looking at the pre-orders it looks like the initial quantity will not last very long.

  • RennSport Cockpit at Porsche factory and museum
    •  If you want to drive the Porsche wheel in the most genuine environment you should go to the factory of Porsche in Leipzig and make the factory tour.

               image

In the museum inside of the impressive tower you will see 2 RennSport Cockpits and you can actually testdrive the racetrack which is just in front of the building. After you made some virtual practice be sure to drive some laps with a real Porsche as co-pilot.

I did this with a 911 which was very impressive but with the Cayenne Turbo S it was absolutly crazy as the driver was in a permanent fourwheel drift on the track.

The track is a combination of famous race track corners and includes the Cork screw corner of Laguna Seca for example.

       Here you find more details:

  • "Christmas bug" in GT5 and Midnight Club

    • It seems that the Porsche 911 Turbo  is no longer working with GT5:Prologue and Midnight Club: Los angeles on the PS3.

The reason is unknown but we are working with Sony on that problem and will release a firmware patch very soon or Sony comes up with a patch.

But thanks to our  club member Ed, we found a quickfix for the problem:

Set the PlayStation 3 system date to any date before the 22.12.2008 (for example 1.1.2007) and it will work fine again.

It seems that this bug is caused by a time trigger.

As soon as we have a new firmware we will release onthe support section of fanatec.com

      http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=3114&lang=en

Due to tthe holidays this can take some time.

I hope this does not happen again.

Despite that issue I want to thank  all customers and club membersHappy new year!

      • Wired connection of wheel and pedal
      • Smooth belt drive

    • Here are all the infos you wanted to hear about the new Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel.

First of all. This wheel is a LIMITED EDITION and we are not planning to make any other wheel of this quality level for the Xbox soon. So you will get something truly exclusive each with a number plate and serial number.

The production is schedules to start in march 2009.

We will start with the pre-sales this week and all pre-orders get a significant discount. Of course only until an edition is sold out.

There will be 3 different editions to satisfy all tastes and to reach are broad audience.

  • Force Feedback now working in Forza 2 and info about pedal compatibility

    • We finally managed to get force feedback signals working in the game which was the last big obstacle in finalizing the development.

I am also happy to announce that the Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel (PWTS) will be working with 4 different pedals.

      1. Standard pedals (similar to PWT but wired)
      2. Clubsport pedals
      3. Logitech G25 pedals
      4. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel for Xbox 360

The last 2 options will be relevant for customers who choose to buy the "Pure" edition which is only the wheel without pedals. There will also be a Clubsport edition which features the new clubsport pedals.

Pricing, availability and full technical specs will be announced next week here on the blog.

When I am back in Germany in two weeks, I will make a comprehensive video of PWTS and introduce all features.

Yes it is! Just press the button on the dongle to activate it.

We did not officially declare it as a PS2 product because otherwise we would have needed to test several hundreds games (in all language versions).

If you are not a member yet you have to register to this website first.

Please fill out as much as you can. We will use this data not for marketing purposes or even sell the data but we need to have enough information to make a fair selection.

The tests will take several months and we will not start with all products at the same time so even if you not have been selected for one product you still have a chance to get selected for the next round.

I am looking forward to work with the community again on our new productsand I am confident that we all get great results again.

You have made the Porsche 911 Turbo wheel the best wheel for the mass market out there and now let's make more great products together.

  • LED and Vibration Control plug-in for rFactor available as Alpha

    • We now have an Alpha version of the plug in for rFactor available which enables the game to directly control the LED display and the vibration motors.

      The following settings are possible:

      LED

      • Speed: Shows speed
      • Gear: Shows selected gear
      • Fuel: Shows remaining fuel
      • Place: Shows current position

      Vibration

      •  Gas pedal: Connected to throttle position (current default function)
      •   Shifting indicator: Sends a vibration signal when it is time to change gears
      • Engine revs: Connected tothe actual revs of the engine
      • ABS indicator: Send virbration signal when the wheel blocks

Note: You can still change the intensity of the vibration motor in the Tuning menu and it is recommended to do so for the different settings. Try it out.

Note: This is not a final version and not even a Beta so please make a backup of your registry before using it. So far it was only tested on Win XP 32 systems

Other games and a proper control panel will follow soon!

The file is attached to this news message.

  • Xbox 360 wheel demo with Forza 2

    • This is the first video of the Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel for Xbox 360 in action.

The wheel runs well with Forza 2 and other games but it still lacks some Force Feedback effects. We also still need to implement the Tuning function and the 6 speed gear shifter

  • Games Convention
    • Fanatec will be showing some new stuff on the Games Convention this year.

We will be at the business center together with our distribution partner Sunflex Europe (Hall 1 K01) and in the consumer section (Hall 4 D10).

Come around and you will see our new wheel and two new racing cockpits.

Beside that we will have a real Porsche car on the booth (a nice model ;))
