  • I would like to thanks all people involved in Fanalab for the works and the reactivity (lucky for you all game was updated close to the same week :D)

I'm waiting some LMU Profile from Maurice to try the sim in LMGT3.

The only thing I can say and point is the car list from LMU, I don't know if it's a bug in my setup or not, but having 6 differents "car" for the same model (in my exemple : BMW M4 LMGT3) because of the livery is a bit too much, I (personnally ?) prefer the way ACC work with one profile for a CAR and not for a team, here the list is really long for something not that big.

It's more a QOL than anything else. Maybe there is a usecase where people want different settings depending of the livery they use.

Thats how LMU works, nothing we can do. It would be up to the game developers of LMU to change how they handle different car IDs.

We can only adapt the Car List to hown the games handle the different cars and for the case of LMU this means dozens of different car ID entries for all the different team liveries.

  • Thanks for the additionnal context :) I understand more how it's work now

  • Having the same issue, tried all recommendations posted here multiple times.

Still getting a startup "Fanalab" prompt, then nothingness.

    advise?

    Thanks,

    e.

  • Did you installed version 2.01.58 or 2.01.57?

Please always upload Windows Event Log Files from the crash, otherwise it is literally impossible to investigate why the crash happens.

A first start and absolutely wild guess without any Logs is to delete the xml folder in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Fanatec\FanaLab and also uninstall the Lab again and then install it again with the option checked to reset the Lab to default settings during the install.

  • Will post the event log as soon as able.

I did the delete, reinstalled, option checked several times, to no avail...

    thanks, standing by.

    e.

So whats going on with this Fanalab verion? It will not stay open, keeps closing automatically.

I tried downloaded the previous version and also crashes immediately after loading ...

I am running latest driver 464

  • See above.

Please always upload Windows Event Log Files from the crash, otherwise it is literally impossible to investigate why the crash happens.

  • I tired those steps but now "Load" is shaded out and I can not load any profiles and nor does it load any automatically

  • Odd the "load" option is now grayed out...

Also it says I am in low tq mode which I am not...

  • Charles, try turning the FFS toggle off and on and see if it brings proper max torque back. I know it already says PEAK but some versions ago I had such an issue. Toggle was on, it said peak but my max torque was that of linear FFS. Toggling it off/on fixed it so that what I have been doing until one or two updates later it started working normally.

  • Updated and everything works fine but something that I have noticed that happend with fanalab 1 version before this one when I open the app and I’m in a session of a sim it will automatically go to the cars profile but now with the 2 last fanalab version I have do it manually is there something that I can do that it will be like before ?

    Thanks in advance!

if eventlog needed I can post it late afternoon.

  • Which game? Just tested this scenario and its working perfectly fine for me, the respective profile is directly loaded when I start the Lab while already being on the track with a car in game.

  • I deleted that xml folder and still no profile is loaded. I use Fanalab 2.01.54 and driver 457.

    1. Created an LMU profile for all GTE cars and another profile for all HY cars in LMU.
    2. No game running. Loaded ACC profile manually.
    3. Started LMU
    4. Started race with an Aston --> LEDs on wheel didn't change as expected if the profile would be changed to the LMU profile.
    5. Closed LMU
    6. Checked Fanalab and the ACC profile was still loaded.

I did the same with the BMW HY car with the same effect. Do you have any ideas what is going on here?

  • I am sorry but I have absolutely no idea why the profiles are not loading for you. I just tested the exact steps and its working perfectly fine for me. Still seems the binding is corrupted for whatever reason on your end.

As you already deleted the xml folder to start from scratch, the next thing to try would be to wipe the registry by uninstalling the Lab, reinstalling the Lab with the checkbox checked to reset the Lab to default to reset all Lab registry settings. If the issue then still happens, then please share your whole Fanalab folder from C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Fanatec, I can try to analyze over the weekend whats wrong but I cant promise I can find something. Dev is on vacation until mid January so no "official" dev help in the coming weeks...

  • Thanks for the fast response and your support! Are the profiles kept during the reinstallation?

  • Yes.

They only ever get deleted when the settings folder in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Fanatec\Fanalab gets deleted manually on your own. They will never get deleted with a uninstallation or re-installation of the software as the whole Fanalab folder will still remain installed on your disk.

On Iracing. It happend when I installed the previous fanalab version.

Even the ITM settings get reset every time that I open it.

  • edited December 20

    Weird.

As for everyone else with such strange problems, the first steps to troubleshoot such an issue would be to delete the xml folder in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Fanatec\Fanalab and if that didnt help then the next thing to try would be to wipe the registry by uninstalling the Lab, reinstalling the Lab with the checkbox checked to reset the Lab to default to reset all Lab registry settings.

If that also doesnt help, then I am out of ideas what could be wrong on your end as I cant reproduce such a weird behaviour here, all is working fine for me...

  • Unfortunately reinstallation didn't fix the issue. Attached please find the zipped Fanatec folder as requested.

  • edited December 20

Thanks, but unfortunately this doesnt make it any easier to analyze what the issue is because there is no issue with that folder at all. I copy-pasted it into my AppData folder, tried your above steps (so loading ACC profile, starting LMU, loading into a session with the AMR) and the bound profile loaded just fine.

So unfortunately that leads to some more serious registry or even worse deep Windows issues on your PC. You can start troubleshooting a broken registry by deleting the Endor registry entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and try again.

In worst case you need to re-install Windows to get your registry back to how it should work as the issue is not on FanaLabs end and not on the profiles or xml files but somewhere in your system...

EDIT: what just came to my mind... You surely clicked the two green buttons in the game profile Tab in Fanalab to Enable Telemetry and Enable Fanalab support...?😅 Otherwise Telemetry would not be forwarded by the game to the Lab so the Lab couldnt "see" that a car is loaded so it couldnt load a profile......

  • I think I did. If I mark a profile as favorite for LMU it is loaded at game start. Would this work without the two buttons clicked? I'll check tomorrow.

  • edited December 20

Yes, favorite profile loading would work without clicking the two green buttons because it has nothing to do with telemetry but is rather bound to the game exe file which the Lab can see fine without enabling the telemetry output from the game ;-)

So my best guess for now is that somehow the telemetry is not send from the game to the Lab anymore and your issue could be fixed when you clicked the two green buttons tomorrow. If not... Then I only have the option with the Endor registry key delete, otherwise I would be out of ideas and a Windows reinstall would be my recommendation then.

Thats quite a wrap up for this year I would say, a lot of new stuff for you to enjoy over the coming christmas days! Speaking about christmas, I want to wish everyone relaxing holidays and a good transition into the new year already!

Note: The latest FanaLab V2.01.58 added a lot of new Telemetry stuff which converted the profiles to support this new features, which means this profile pack is ONLY compatible with this newest FanaLab V2.01.58 version or newer and is incompatible with any older FanaLab version.

    All the best,

    Maurice

So I hit the two green buttons to enable telemetry and support and here it is. Telemetry is first image and support is second image. The support enabling seems to be OK.

I found that plugin in the Fanalab app folder and copied it manually to the LMU plugin folder. Now the temetry enabling brought a success message and it finally works now as it should. @Maurice, thanks for your support!

Question remains why the plugin was not copied.

Another issue on my side is that one game is shown as "unavailable". I think it came when I removed rF2 from Steam. But it is no real problem yet.

  • Hey Maurice. Thank you for your great new profiles for LMU :)

I just rode LMGT3 for the first time and the FFB feels significantly stronger/rougher. Is that normal?

    THX and Merry Christmas!

  • Thank you very, very much and Merry Christmas to you, as well!
