The G29 is a basic direct input device with no drivers really required. The Fanatec CSL v1.1 operates as two separate devices and requires drivers to work. Drivers are officially only on Windows, so I dont think it will work on Linux. Not speaking from experience

Devices can't work without drivers (kernel modules). G29 uses integrated to kernel modules or https://github.com/berarma/new-lg4ff
On F1 2017 linux FAQ (https://support.feralinteractive.com/docs/en/f12017/latest/linux/faqs/) there is some fanatec devices.
Hi Dainius,
I'm looking to buy a Fanatec wheel base that is compatible with Linux. Were you able to get any Fanatec wheel base to work on Linux with Force FeedBack?
I don't have Fanatec wheel base. I'm just looking to buy one, but this one should work with linux.
Just FYI, I've started to develop a driver to get FFB with the CSL Elite. It's in very early stage, but I get some forces in AC, ACC and F1 2020. Since I've no windows machine I can't tell how it should feel, though ;)
Dude, you’re awesome ! Not having my csl elite working on Linux is the only reason why i keep a small Windows partition on my computer... Thank you !
I want to say BIG thanks to @Matthias Gozellik
Yesterday I received Fanatec CSL Elite and Club Sport V3 pedals. Now i can enjoy sim racing on linux. I did this before, but with G29, now with Fanatec it's next level :)
Wheel and FFB - works, pedals - works. What is not working is RPM led's on base and LCD screen on wheel, and these small FFB motors on pedals.
Tested with ACC and Automobilista2
Right now I was testing the associated driver from Matthias Gozellik.
Linux is detecting the wheel but there is an enormous deadzone from -40 to +40 degrees. I kept to the instructions from git using make and "sudo make install"
Not sure what to do now since I*m not familiar in the usage of sysfs. In the given folder there are some files that are named to the settings from Fanatec.
According the the makefile there were explicit commands given to remove deadzone. Maybe for unknown reasons they did not execute properly.
Did anybody else encounter this?
Big thanks for the efforts of creating the driver so far!
Thx to Matthias Gozellik, he showed me a working answer at https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/jtldnb/setting_up_a_fanatec_csl_elite_ps4_wheelbase_in/
