DD PRO Don't turn ON only connected to PS5

Hi,

I recently occured a really strange problem. I've already wrote to the assistance but I know the long time to respond of Fanatec so I decided to write also here.

I played last time with my wheel more or less one week ago. Yesterday I tried to power ON my DD Pro normally to play on PS5, but when I pushed the power button on the wheel base the button didn't light on and no calibration test started, dead.

I checked all the connections, the power supply has the blue light turned ON, I tried to change all the USB port of the PS5 thinking was a problem of the port. Nothing changed. I tried to swap from original cable to another one. Nothing changed.

After that I tried to connect the USB not to the PS5 but at the PC and like a magic , when I push the power button the wheel base turned ON and calibration test started. I note from the Fanatec Control Panel that I had to update driver and firmware so proceeded in this way. Now is all updated, but once I connect to PS5 still not working.

I tried to re-connect to PC and using the bootloader mode I re-flashed the firmware but nothing happened.

The last try I did was to connect the wheel base to another PS5 and also another PS4 Pro but it didn't work.

I've already opened the ticket but I wanna ask some support or if somebody occured same problem in the past.

Thanks

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the detailed info about the issue. It sounds like you've already tried a lot of troubleshooting steps, which is great! Since the wheel base powers on and works fine with the PC, it could be an issue specific to the PS5 connection. I’d recommend checking the firmware and settings on both the console and the wheel base once more, just to ensure everything is fully aligned.

If it still doesn’t work after that, please keep your ticket active with our support team—they'll be able to guide you further. We really appreciate your patience and understanding, and we’re here to help in any way we can! Best, your Fanatec team.

helpful to know what versions of FW or driver used:

What was version before the problem?

What version did you update to?

Do you start PS first or base? Try reverse the order you normally use

Does the base start up w nothing connected to USB?

If yes can you set blue mode? If not which modes can be set?

Then start PS5 and connect the USB from base - does this work?

Since the problem seems to be w PS systems, yes wheel base sounds like where the issue is

For the DD Pro FW in driver 451 was very stable, as was 455 if you want to try those

  • Hi,

What do you mean with "Checking the firmware and settings on both the console and the wheel base once more"?

The only way I have to check the firmware is by the Control panel on PC, what I have to check on console?

  • Hi,

Unfortunately I don't remember the driver and firmware version before the update, I haven't updated since more or less 6 months.

I don't understand how the various versions can be important because the problem has occured with the old firmware but continue with the new one.

By the way try to answer to some questions:

Now my PC driver version is 464, Wheel base 1.3.0.1, Wheel base motor 1.0.3.2, Steering wheel 47.

Normally I turn ON first the console then the base, and maybe I'm wrong but I'm not sure that the opposite sequence works because if the console is turned OFF is like the cable is not connected to anything. And this point is connected to the question below, so If nothing is connected to the USB the base didn't turn ON
