CSL DD / Clubsport difficult to configure?

Hi,

Are the CSL DD / ClubSport difficult to configure before you can play a game?

I want to upgrade my current Thrustmaster TX 458, after reading MANY reviews the choice is going to be Logitech G Pro or the CSL DD/ClubSport (don’t know yet). Both wheels will be a major upgrade for me, but I am leaning toward Fanatec. However, many reviews mention that Fanatec can be difficult or even frustrating to configure. Is that true? That is holding me back.

A quote from a review:

Logitech is no small party, so the wheel was immediately recognized in practically every game I connected it to. That has been different with other wheelbases (I'm looking at you Fanatec), so it's nice to see that you don't have to tinker for hours yourself.

    The wheelbase will be recognised right away (proably).

    Dialling in the settings might be trickier to get the feel 'right'.

    But there are recommended defaults direct from fanatec for most of the games - some here on this very forum.

    There are fanalab profiles created for the CS DD for some of the games as well which help.

    Otherwise, theres plenty of settings from different people online - a quick google would find them

    Forza Horizon games is little messy to setup, has nothing to do with the wheel its just the ingame settings that need some heavy config.

    F1 and motorsport wasnt so bad to setup.

    Its all about personal taste how u want it to be.

    What some people like you may not like and so on.

    For me most of the fanatecs settings hasnt worked good for me. they are only good for a basic starting point.

    For horizon 5 "when i played it" i had to use compitable mode othervise the game wouldnt find the wheel on pc.

    Strange that Horizon 5 only recognizes the wheel in compatible mode, the ClubSport is supported.

    I think I will order the ClubSport DD (not the DD+, don’t need  15 Nm). It is about the same price as Logitech G Pro with a huge catalog that Logitech lacks. Hope I won’t regret it because of the setup and customer support apparently not being that good.

    Please don't purchase fanatec!

    Simply look at all the posts in the forum on why not to purchase fanatec

    I regret spending thousands on all my fanatec equipment and I have a wheelbase that has an extremely dangerous electrical arcing issue!

    I'll be moving to a different wheelbase manufacturer ASAP!!

    Well, I did buy the Clubsport DD with CSL Pedals, load cell kit, F1 Esport wheel and ClubSport RS Wheel.

    I do not regret it for one second, what a huge difference coming from the TX458! I feel so much more details. Only Forza Horizon 5 does not work well with the Fanatec, it takes a lot of effort to keep the car under control but that seems to be a known issue.
