Podium DD2 Shaft Extension - Fitting Guide?
I purchased the Podium DD2 shaft extension ("Cockpit Extension (Type M" - no longer available) and it arrived with an assortment of cables, bolts and strange plastic collar, but with no fitting instructions whatsoever.
I can't find any instructions online at all or anybody who has also even managed to purchase one?

Shaft change is similar like change QR1 to QR2
hope this video helps you
So I just had a go, it seems like the weird plastic cottar sits on the shaft. It has 2 little slots and tiny screws which can locate in the slots. I don’t see what the point or function of this piece is?
It’s not holding it or indicating if the shaft has become loose or anything..
I’m left with 4 large bolts which I guess might be for the rig mounting points, odd that these are included.
Also there seems to be a power cable extension and a converter
cable from the printer type on the back of the DD2, to a usb-c.
Not tested on rig yet.
I'm using this one with a DD1 and QR2. It's working great.

Nice, looking forward to the extra FOV i can gain bringing monitors forwards.
This is the official fanatec one which for some reason they briefly listed on the website without any pictures, and sent without fitting instructions. QR code on box goes to a dead fanatec link.
It’s just the plastic collar that’s thrown me off, I don’t understand what function it can possibly be fulfilling..
This extension shaft was not purchased from Fanatec was it?
Yes it was, it’s an official Fanatec product.
that plastic could be just for make it look nicer
How? This is (or should) not a part you can buy from the webshop as it is an extension for the upcoming ClubSport Cockpit F1 where that extension is included. If at all then this extension should only be available as spare part from customer support when you have issues with the one included with the cockpit...
The plastic is to limit to where exactly the shaft enters.
The bolts are for fastening the base to the formula cockpit.
you can buy those in ebay as well really
Thats a totally different story. We know from where those offers come - they are not legit to say it in nice words.
Ah okay that makes more sense.
Not sure why they were available separately briefly, but it does exactly what I needed, which is to be able to sit the DD2 behind my monitor and run it low and close to the shaft.
Really appreciate your fanalab profiles Maurice, they were the first thing I sorted when I got a DD2 on black friday last year. Cheers
it could be that there was web shop bug, and you was able buy that, when they saw it they may fixed that
like Maurice Böschen tell there is no bug free drivers, stuff like this may happen even a web shop self
Yes exactly! The problem that I have on the webshop is if I click on some product to look at it. It will automatically go to my “shopping cart” if I go to the webshop next time. I don’t know if that is also “bug” but I think so.
