Clubsport Steering Wheel F1 2023 Funky Switch issues

Hello all

I am finally a proud owner of my Fanatec equipment DD+ CLS Elite V2 (after 3 months of waiting) which is used with the PS5. My query is that The Funky Switch on the right when used in GT7, ACC menu or even start up screen on PS5, it moves erratically. If i move it left right up or down, it moves and make a selection all at the same time. Very frustrating. I have seen messages on here, that if I change from Blue light(PS5) to Purple light (PS4/PS5) on DD+ wheelbase its suppose to solve this. It does slows it down a little but not very much. My friend purchased the same set up and has the same problem.

I was watching DigitGamer today and he was using his absolutely fine.

Any ideas on what is happening or what should we do?

  • Update the firmware of the wheel. I had this problem with the formula v2.5.

    now it’s ok

  • Thank you,

I did update all of my equipment when I received it last week. But I will try again and let you know the outcome.

  • What firmware version do you have in the steering wheel?

i think the last one is 1.0.2.0

  • Hello again,

I have checked the firmware and it says its upto date. Problem still there.

Also tried Blue light and Purple light. What now?

Also this might sound silly but correct me if i'm wrong. The Formula v2.5 and F1 2023 are the same wheel?

  • On the Fanatec Control Panel desktop program it says the following:

    Fanatec Wheel Base Firmware

    2.0.1.4

    Fanatec Steering Wheel Firmware

    0.3.5.0

    Quick Release Firmware

    1.0.0.3

All say Firmware up to date.

Where would i find 1.0.2.0? if it doesn't come up on Desktop program?

  • Update..! ive opened the Fanatec firmware manage and message reads:

ClubSport Formula wheel V2 Firmware 0.3.5.0

My wheel is suppose to be V2.5 (F1 V2.5) is that where the problem lies?? has fanatec taken us for clowns and given us an old wheel?

  • your wheel is not updated.

download the last driver 456, and update the wheel with 1.0.2.0, and the base and WQR. you have the last driver package 455,

    download the 456

  • On the Fanatec website this is their link below:

It only shows the Driver 455 I cannot see a driver 456 on their website are you sure about this?

thank you for your time by the way

All sorted now works perfectly. Finally found the 456 firmware by a search. Strange when you click driver tab its does not come up, Fanatec need to sort that out. Thank you very much for your time Pedro. Much appreciated. See you on the Apex

  • Probably because v456 driver is in beta stage and not final release.

  • Nice to know its working great now. Enjoy your rig :-)

  • Got this exact issue. Will check out 456 beta

  • Hello, I have exactly the same problem, but when downloading version 456 an error appears, do you know how to avoid that error? For those that I write to Fanatec they do not answer, thanks in advance.

I had this issue with the 2024 Red Bull version, where whenever I used the Funky as a d-pad it was sending the push button input (X button on playstation) about 50% of the time I moved the d-pad.

Unfortunately there is a bug in the firmware provided with driver 464, and I now have a different issue. In Gran Turismo 7, in-race, the Funky D-pad no longer cycles through and adjusts the MFD as it’s supposed to and did with previous firmware. Now it is instead doing look left, look backward, look right (and doing nothing with d-pad up input). How do we get Fanatec support/developer attention to this new issue?
