Most forum posts are by people who don't work for Fanatec.
If you could tell us a little about what region you're in, what you ordered, and on which date we may be able to provide some insight based on the experience of others in a similar position.
UK, ordered a CSL DD 5nm, a CSL steering wheel BMW, CSL elite pedals V2, and a CSL DD tablemount (arrived) and a free QR1 lite. Ordered all on 2nd december
I'm waiting for QR2 wheelside stock (available 18-Dec) in Australia for my order to ship (placed 23rd Nov).
Most of what I've seen is people waiting for QR1/2, DD+ and the Formula 2.5X wheel.
EU warehouse was meant to be stocktake + holidays 23rd Dec - Jan 10th then back to work, Aus is 23rd Dec - Jan 16th, unsure about other regions.
can you just elaborate on what stocktake is, is it taking note of whats in stock?
Did you order everything it one order?
Does the table mount have a tracking number, have you tried using this on the shipping provider's site to see if there are other items in transit?
Fanatec has stated they don't do partial shipping of orders (though I'm not sure I believe them, plenty of people seem to have reported receiving partial shipments), so in theory everything should have already been shipped.
I believe with UK orders you may need to pay import duty to release your items before they're delivered and from what I can gather there seems to be a bit of a communication issue. Oftentimes Fanatec does not seem to provide a tracking number (if they do, you need to have a look on a desktop browser, not mobile), and I get the feeling that the shipping provider is expecting you to keep an eye on the tracking number for updates often keeping quiet about holding these items until you've paid the duty.
If it hasn't all shipped yet according to Fanatec, then yeah you could have run into some of the delays caused by holidays and stocktake, which yes, is literally counting your inventory and comparing it to what your systems say you should have in stock. It's usually an annual process for companies which sell goods.
Exactly, stocktake is a standard warehouse procedure done by companies to verify what the computer says they have in stock matches what is physically in the warehouse. Usually to do this you need to stop sending things in and out so you get an accurate number.
Fanatec stocktake will be like a Laurel and Hardy film. There will be folk hitting each other on the head with ladders and looking under stairs for missing boxes, It will be shambolic.
As much as I enjoy the idea (fork lifts moving pallets of DD+ across the background while another member looks for that pallet), the stock check I believe is performed by the 3rd party warehouse staff.
How do you pay for the duty?
You will get an email from UPS saying VAT + handling fee is due.
Lalalalala i am waiting
Dang after £600 they still want more money
Fanatec don't but the British Government will want £120 and UPS will want £12. :-)
Sorry £120? Bollocks (£12 is fine but £120 is stupid)
Fanatec remove the VAT from your order if you purchase outside the EU from the EU store. You part the VAT in the country you live.
If your order was £600 as you say you will need to pay 20% VAT - my rudimentary arithmetic makes that £120, plus the UPS fee.
None of this should be a surprise - standard practice for EU imports into UK.
Tell me you know nothing about international trade and Brexit without telling me you know nothing about international trade or Brexit...
cancel.
buy Moza products.
don't mess with this.
If I wanted a wheelbase that overheated then I would have bought a Moza already.
