Stuck with button mapping?

Good morning,

I am running into an issue in F1 2023 where I cannot remap certain buttons in game to my liking. I get the ''You can only map menu controls for devices that have no preset control scheme.'' error message every time I try to remap certain buttons.

I have seen online that going into the .xml config file and making changes there can work but I do not like messing with game files.

Is there no better way to customise all buttons to my liking? It feels like my old G920 had more flexibility in terms of button customization.

I am surprised that we cannot remap buttons from any of the 2 fanatec softwares. There is so much customization you can do to wheel behavior there yet button mapping isn't available...

Hi Jean Philippe!

if you have the Formula V2.5, go to the fanatec app (the white), and go to the wheel setting on the left of the screen( not the base).

Now go on mouse emulator on top of te screen, and desactivate the mouse.

I hope my advice resolve your problem.

I have the Formula Esports V2.

Mouse emulation is already off, I have never turned it on...

if you have the Formula V2.5, go to the fanatec app (the white), and go to the wheel setting on the left of the screen( not the base).
Now go on mouse emulator on top of te screen, and desactivate the mouse.
