CSL Elite V2 question

I'm thinking on upgrading from my T-CLM's to the CSL Elite V2 pedals. Mainly because I've recently upgraded my Logitech wheel to a CSL DD w/V2.5 wheel and my OCD can't take it anymore...
My question is this. I race with socks only. It looks like with the rubber covers on the pedals it looks like my foot won't be able to 'slide' on the pedal. Does anyone race with socks only with these pedals? If so, does it cause any issues or did you find a work around?

As written in the webshop description the rubber pads are removable and below is a smooth surface for sock-racers who prefer to let the foot slide ;)
Thanks, I guess my ex-wife was right. I do have a reading/listening comprehension issue...
I've got the standard CSL pedals, personally I think they are great value, they have the optional extra of flat pedal faces, weirdly called a tuning kit.
