I know this is not really fully on topic. But would you know why if I use Fanalab and SimHub at the same time on F1 22 it causes screen freezes and lag spikes? Figured it don’t hurt to ask lol.
I dont use SimHub so cant really comment I on this but from what I have heard it's because SimHub and FanaLab dont like each other, they just dont work pretty well in parallel.
Do you get any prompt while launching the game that another program is using the port? Fanalab and simhub use the same port to read telemetry from the game (like a radio channel frequency) so they can get in their way sometimes. I get the prompt in Dirt 2 and struggle to successfully launch the game and have both fanalab and simhub working. The order in which you launch stuff does seam to matter but I do not play often enough to remember it so I learn it each time anew😒 IIRC I think you can change the port in F1 games (can we?, I only played F1 20 or 21 for 3 mins but I think I saw it there). If I am not mistaken then technically you could change the port for F1 22 both in game and in fanalab and in simhub. This would still be one and the same port but not the common one so who knows, maybe it would help. On the other hand this might render new problems given introducing F122 to fanalab seamed problematic. Obviously it's Codemasters thing since in AC and ACC fanalab and simhub get along perfectly well for me. So you might want to try asking on their forums.
I have got that prompt before. And yes. Any other game like ACC, R3E, iRacing etc I can use both at the same time. With F1 I get major lag spikes and screen freezes. In fact, in SimHub you can set SimHub to forward UDP packets to 20888 which is the only port fanalab works with F1. 20777 is the only port that works with SimHub. In general with either one I get lag spikes. I thought it was a Fanalab issue but it seems like I need to take this to a telemetry forum in F122. Because fanalab gives me zero issues with any other game/sim. Only F1. I would get LEDs freezing when wheel vibration is triggered, lag spikes and screen freezes. So I no longer need support from here. It’s not a fanalab issue. It’s a F1 22 issue. It seems to use way too much of the games resources just for sharing UDP data.
I see. You already know the stuff. As for the LEDs freezing with wheel vibrations on, it has been acknowledged in here recently so this one might be Fanatec related if this is the same scenario.
And, just for culprit hunting, what happens if you do not run fanalab but only simhub? i.e. set up the wheel in driver and/or in wheel settings.
Just to close the loop on this, I was able to reproduce the freeze on 440 (with the wheel firmware downgraded to 44 from 45) as well.
Pretty sure the issue is with the wheel itself and NOT related to fanalab or driver version. I've tightened the screws on the connector in the wheel per a suggestion on another thread & that seemed to help (at least for the one race I ran so far).
The profiles are for DD2 (and with some calculation also for DD1) only and can not be used without a massive effort of changing all values for other bases.
You can however still benefit from the LED settings if you have RGB capable steering wheel.
I sounds like you have an issue with your PC. I run simhub and fanalab together, and have for a year. There is no compatibility issue. You only need to let simhub configure the game to send telemetry to simhub. Then for each game you have, in the simhub configuration for that game, set up a port forward to 20888, which I believe is the port fanalab expects to get telemetry data on.
we need one not going to lie ive messed with ndp nfr nin ndp for days now and barely have gotten to slow down it would just be more convent it kinda how it was on the clubsport wheels
And when using those settings with high values it's almost impossible to turn the wheel so the settings are way more than enough to slow down wheel Rotation speed.
So no, there wont be Drift Mode for DDs.
But anyway that's more a topic for the driver thread as it's unrelated to FanaLab.
Nevertheless, I don't see great utility for this as normally you can assign a game function to a button, the only thing I see that this can be helpful, is you're using a macro, macro assign to a key and then assign that to a button...
Sory I am new to Fanatec..I have the CSL DD 8nM and McLaren V2 new last week.. will these settings be imported into Fanalabs work for my setup. I tried to import the F1 22 and it says wheel base, steering wheel mismatch..
DD1 Help Needed. I updated to the 445 driver this morning from 433. I also installed Fanalab 1.66. Everything updated well. When I went into iRacing and went to configure the controls, the wheel started violently shaking back and forth. I turned the DD1 wheel base off and I started to smell burning coming from the wheel base. I unplugged the power supply and all other cables from the back of the wheel base. at this point, smoke started coming out of the front and back of the wheel base.
Is the wheel base fried? I'm scared to plug it back in.
Is there a way to delete multiple profiles or does it have to be done one by one with the garbage can icons? Takes ages if one is updating all profiles to your newer ones.
Also, a quick save button on the tuning page would be awesome!

It is only with F1 22 though. Oh well. Other than that, turning off wheel vibration gets rid of the LED freezing completely.

If I don’t run fanalab and just simhub I do still get screen freezes and lag spikes but not as bad. But only in F1
Can I use them for the CSL DD as well or do I have to change anything?

I need help. Fanalab ITM is not in the menu. What am I doing wrong?
The GT DD PRO does not have a Display which could show the ITM.
It's Podium DD and BME exclusive.
Thanks!

Could we get a drift mode for the dd1/dd2 as well? or someway we can slow down wheel rotation speed?
No, there wont be a Drift Mode for DDs.
Wheel rotation speed is controlled via NDP, NFR and NIN, most with NDP.
Also this has nothing to do with FanaLab...😅
we need one not going to lie ive messed with ndp nfr nin ndp for days now and barely have gotten to slow down it would just be more convent it kinda how it was on the clubsport wheels
A Drift Mode is unnecessary on a DD.
You have to dial it in with NDP, NFR and NIN.
And when using those settings with high values it's almost impossible to turn the wheel so the settings are way more than enough to slow down wheel Rotation speed.

Any chance of adding the ability to bind keys to buttons ?
Not planned, no.
Are the wheels direct input or x input ?
maybe I can find some 3rd party profiler that will do it
Sim hub can do it, joy2key can do it also...
Nevertheless, I don't see great utility for this as normally you can assign a game function to a button, the only thing I see that this can be helpful, is you're using a macro, macro assign to a key and then assign that to a button...
Its for old games I'm a bit of a retro gamer there are a few buttons that old games don't recognise

I see these are only for DD1 etc.. unknown to a novice user sorry.

Is this version of Fanalab v1.66 and driver v4.45 officially supported by Fanatec?
Thanks,
Frank
Yes.

@everyone: BIG update for my AMS2 profile pack!
