To your last line, this is my point. For 7 years nothing has been able to be changed to make it possible one way or the other. Just seems strange, that's all. Probably not something that has even been thought about.
It has been thought about but you can not change a technical limitation from electronics without a hardware change. And you cant change hardware on a product which is being sold for 7 years. Also the 7 year old first batch pedals still need to work like pedals you buy today. So this just can not be changed.
Why would you want to pay for a new PCB to get BRF adjustment with USB connection? Just connect the pedals to the base... There are zero disadvantages with a Direct connection to the base so why you would want to spend money to get BRF available via USB connection?!!
If it's even possible to get that functionality just with a new PCB. Maybe it's also a technical limitation of the whole Load Cell mechanism used and it would need a completely new Load Cell - which for very obvious reasons would never be possible to sell without making a completely new SKU.
I guess this is wandering a bit off topic, but this does make me wonder why the v3's have been around for as long as they have, having never seen any significant upgrades to warrant a v4 being released. The v1's and v2's, to the best of my knowledge, were only sold for a relatively short while...a couple of years each, IIRC. The v3's are getting pretty long in the tooth now, having been on the market for what, 7 years or so now?
Regarding the jolt issue on the Podium DD2 wheel. Can anyone explain what "ITM or analysis screens" are? Analysis I'm assuming are the various optional displays on the DD2 OLED, but what is ITM? Can they happen, if less frequently, on the Fanatec logo screen too? I swear I felt one last time I used the wheel, but I'm also spooked about the thing so don't trust that one off feeling without seeing it happen more.
Honestly as a new user that just spent a decent chunk of cash on this, I'd have been a lot happier if there was a slip of paper in the packaging explaining this jolt issue is happening and there's a fix on the way rather than worrying I'd got a bad unit and pestering other forums and customer service about it. Not a great feeling for a product in this price range.
Yea i know that. Was just a tought that i missed something. Is it happening soon wit the fix? Can't even use 429 because of the BMW wheel now. After 429 everything is more broken then ever. I so f****** hate this realy. Less and less functionality with every driver. But the good side is that with 440 Forza 5 realy doesn't crash anymore.
Ran Updates in FanaLabs today to 440, now my V1 ClubSport Universal Hub (Xbox) will no longer allow me to use the tuning buttons to reset my settings, or change profiles. Did the usual online searching, reinstalling, repairing, and manually updating. Any advice at this point?
Fanalab has nothing to do with drivers. So you did not ran updates in Fanalab... ;)
You are most likely in the new Standard Tuning Menu after Base Firmware update..
Press and hold the Tuning Menu Button for 3 seconds while being in the Tuning Menu to switch back into the Advanced Tuning Menu with all the old settings.
After a Windows security update, Computer USB Controllers, Fanalab, ACC, and Fanatec Control Panel would not recognize my DD1. However, I does get recognized when the base is set to PC COMP, which it shouldn't.
After searching and reading post after post, I connected a few dots together and figured out how to fix it.
The device was DISABLED IN DEVICE MANAGER.
Right click the windows charm, select Device Manager > View Tab> Show Hidden Devices> Device by Container (Sorting). You will see a bunch of FANATEC items show up.
There will be a tiny icon indicating that shows which one was disabled. Mine was under FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD1> USB Input Device.
Small issue with the 440 driver on my GT DD Pro - if I calibrate the shifter, the OLED display gets stuck showing "6_7" (the last shifter calibration step) if a load a game that uses it, until I power off and restart the wheelbase.

It's the same...

So....
Podium pedals when?
that is a question for another thread. grouped together with the qr2...
So why is it so hard to update the hardware through a new PCB to be sold as an upgrade? I know I would buy it and so might others too?
But WHY?
Why would you want to pay for a new PCB to get BRF adjustment with USB connection? Just connect the pedals to the base... There are zero disadvantages with a Direct connection to the base so why you would want to spend money to get BRF available via USB connection?!!

Because they are still good value for the price and it seems Fanatec Sees no need to upgrade them.
And yes, 7 years.
But also yes, this is escalating a bit into a lot off-topic so this discussion should end now...

Edit: Oh probably means the tuning menu, right?
Many people confirmed driver 440 fixes Forza Horizon 5 crash issue (by accident?).
Please keep this behavior in later version if this was a good change.

ITM is the telemetry which can be displayed on the wheelbase when using Fanalab - like this
Ah! That makes sense, thanks.
Fanatec said it was a problem that game developers had to fix.
If the crash problem is resolved with the 440 driver, I can only think that the problem was with the old fanatec driver.
fanatec must provide accurate information
Is there a way to counter the problem when you change the damper in game, damping just disappears and if you change it again it comes back.
Not yet.
WIll be fixed with the upcoming Joltfix Firmware though.
For now just dont use the in game Damper and DPR on the wheel in general to not get this issue in the first place.

I want to update an issue I had with a SOLUTION.

Hope this helps.
Fuck you Bill Gates.
Boa noite, as actualizações no GT PRO sao para ser feitas em modo pc ou modo pc comp?
Obrigado
Please post in English according to the forum rules so everyone understands you.
Good night, are the updates in GT PRO to be done in pc mode or pc comp mode?
Thanks
Should not matter but better do it in PC mode.
where can i find the settings with this update recommended by fanatec for acc?
thanks

It works great!
I would love to hear the Devs follow up on this, but for now I'll assume that the ACC issue was the same for FH5.
I'm currently having no issues with 440 driver on GT7, or FH5 on the GT DD Pro. Haven't booted ACC since GT7's release.
But for me 440 has only been good so far.
Small issue with the 440 driver on my GT DD Pro - if I calibrate the shifter, the OLED display gets stuck showing "6_7" (the last shifter calibration step) if a load a game that uses it, until I power off and restart the wheelbase.
Have you tried ACC with the 440 driver yet? All good?
I ran it for just a tiny bit and didn't really dig into anything. I've been addicted to GT7 so it's hard to fit it into my schedule for a good test.
Also. Molly, that is a known issue for some time. For me it only happens after calibration, then it's fine.
