Handbrake has no input

I've looked around but I can't seem to find any help with this. I have a G920 wheel and pedals and would like to use a Fanatec Handbrake 1.5 with it on PC. I just bought it and the USB adapter. Assetto Corsa recognizes it, but it just says "waiting for input" the driver window doesn't show any input either. I have the USB drivers it lists on its product page. Is there something else I need to download? The lack of instructions is kind of frustrating, any help would be appreciated. I'm using the desk mount and rail adapter from Fanatec as well, I've read it gets some finicky inputs when mounted to metal. I don't know if that is also the case with their desk mount, but I can't get any input at all so I don't think that's it. For the record it is completely detected in game, it just has no input when pulled.

    Did you check if Options/Controls/Advanced and select combine with keyboard input or mapping under the secondary controls?
