The F1 Esports Pro Series is back!

Following the huge success of the Virtual Grand Prix season, where many F1 stars and other celebrities competed in F1 Esports events during the global lockdown, the F1 Esports Pro Series is back for its fourth season. Ten F1 teams are fighting for the championship, with the highest ever prize fund of $750,000.

The format has been expanded for 2020, with longer races, more live streams, new venues, and a new qualifying show. More details on the official site.

The opening two races in Bahrain and Vietnam were broadcast yesterday and were closely contested as ever. With equal car performance and identical sim racing hardware provided by Fanatec, it really could be anyone’s championship. Alfa Romeo executed a perfect one-two finish in race one, with Jarno Opmeer finishing one tenth ahead of teammate Dani Bereznay.

In race two, last year’s champion, Ferrari Driver Academy Hublot’s David Tonizza began the defence of his title with an impressive win at the Hanoi street circuit. You can watch the full live stream archive on the official F1 YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qiAzJuJjDY

Race three starts this evening at 20:30 CEST (all remaining live shows start at the same time), with the live stream available on F1’s official Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook channels, and on TV around the world.
