ERS disengaging in F1 2019 and 2020

I had recently bought FANATEC gear and it is amazing with one hiccup. The ERS will not activate for either one of the F1 game on my Club Sport Steering Wheel Formula V2. All of the firmware , settings in game steering wheel, used default button, rebound to new key, restarting game, wheelback, disconnecting wheel and all with same result. I press button and it immediately disengage. Holding button down same result. Is there something I am overlooking that would cause this? Hope I can get this resolved here and hope not have to go through FANATEC customer service.
