Hola Jose, para actualizar es necesario usar un PC porque son archivos MSI que los Mac no pueden usar.
Yo también tengo un Mac y pedí un portátil PC prestado unos días para actualizar el equipo.
Suerte!
Hi José,
Please post on the forums in English.
Hi Joseph, I'll do the translation for you
José wants to know if it's possible to update the Fanatec V3 pedals using a Mac computer instead a PC.
I replied it's not possible because the .msi update files are only for PC. I also had the same problem and I had to ask for help to a friend.
You know, Mac and PC have different languages, like all of us. Sometimes you ask for help in your own language and nobody replies.
Kind regards
You can update via Windows 10 installed through Boot camp on a Mac however there are no updates for the V3 pedals. Thanks for the translation. ;)
Hi Jose. I'm a Mac user myself so was faced with a similar situation to you initially. Unfortunately the drivers for updating Fanatec wheel bases, wheels, pedals etc are Windows PC based and can only be downloaded, installed to update via a Windows PC environment. When I first got my Fanatec products I had to take mine to someone with a Windows PC in order to download and update and/or test accordingly. The next time I had to do it it was too much of a hassle to get someone available. Also I would have preferred to have done it myself at my own convenience. I'll tell you what I ended up doing.
As someone else said you can do so on a Mac via running in Bootcamp (which is a Windows emulator). This is not ideal though as Bootcamp has its limitations. What I ended up doing is installing a virtual machine app on my Mac. Example: Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion. I chose VMware Fusion. What this does on your Mac is enable you to create a Windows based PC environment to run side by side with your Mac operating system which allows you when you launch the VM app to operate as though you are running on a Windows based PC. Then you can download and install the driver, run tests etc on your Fanatec hooked up to your Mac via USB.
You can research the VM (Virtual Machine) apps mentioned for a better understanding of how they work.
You will also need to install the Windows OS (Operating System) on the created virtual machine. This you can also search for tutorials on Youtube or whatever for tutorials in how to do.
