Selecting the wrong firmware file should not cause any harm as the updater knows whats to correct one and will reject to accept wrong files like here in the screenshot where I double checked that this won't cause the base to get bricked. It will show "Hex file loading failed" if you try to load a file which isn't meant for the update you want to do. If it got bricked by the update, then because of another reason, could also have been an hardware issue causing the update to fail.
Which ClubSport Pedals V3 firmware do you use? Have you tried updating it or downgrading it? If you perform a manual update you can select the previous firmware via the 3 dot button
SO I used the 41 test motor firmware when I updated to 428. I have now updated to 429, do I have to flash the test motor firmware again or not?
Also, note to devs, every time I use the updater, the updater hangs at the end and I have to end task then launch the driver software to re-centre etc.
Just a short feedback for the installation / update of the driver 429 package from 423 (no further testing until now).
Update of the driver package in Windows 10 without problems (SW only). After opening the Fanatec control panel the firmware updater did not start automatically there was also no popup. The control panel opened on the Firmware Update page and showed that a new FW 689 was available. After opening the Firmware manager the FW was installed.
After installation of the 689 FW the fan goes to 100% cooling mode
Wheel calibration started
H-Shifter calibration started, but it seems that the calibration was not successful or not saved because the shown gear value jumped around the 3, R, 1 gear
Cooling fan was sitting on 100%, closing and reopening the control panel didn't help
I decided to reboot the base and the PC, after that the cooling fan was back to normal but the PBME showed CAL, so 2 problems:
The calibration of wheel and shifter was not saved and I have re-done it the old way (tuning menu and buttons)
The tuning setups were not saved and restored correctly. Setup 1 was a new default (like after a reset) and the old Setup 1 was in Setup 2, Setup 2 in 3 and so on.
Wheel Base Model (product ID): Podium DD2
Steering Wheel Model (product ID): PBME
Driver Version: 429 (was 423)
Base FW Version: 689 (was 687 hotfix)
Motor FW Version: PWBDD2_EBLDC_V41_TestExport2.hex (not changed)
@Marcel Pfister anything particular to watch out for with the new / test motor firmware for the DD1 / DD2? I just updated everything to the latest versions and also loaded the new motor firmware. Didn't have time to test it this evening but i'm having 2 weeks of before i start my new job so i have some "spare time" to test things 😉
Updated my DD1 to 429 with the new motor firmware and maybe just placebo effect but noticed an improvement. My DD1 has never felt better. Things continuing to get better and better. No issues updating etc. Thank you for all the clear instructions, etc. makes our life much easier
This is what was mentioned in the changelog of the first post and should be improved
Improves motor calibration to remove sticky feeling on direction changes. People which liked to remove the motor calibration with the last versions should give this firmware a try.
Fixes issue of wheel moving slightly back and forth after resting it in some positions.
You can give feedback on if this is also improved for you or if anything else feels wrong/worse with this FW
You can download driver 402 just fine from the forum thread: I just tried that driver myself with DD2 and Fv2 and for me the vibration strength with SHO set to 100 feels exactly the same as with driver 429...
Updated my DD1 from 381 and the difference is big.
Mostly due to the FFS setting and LIN on.
I decided to give it a try, as it was on by default, and I have to say I like it a lot.
Especially on Dirt 2(I have more than 400 hours on the game).
I had to change all my tuning menu+ game settings in all of my games though.
With LIN on I noticed I generally need a relatively higher FFB value, higher NFR, but I can lower INT a bit which gives me more detail.
In general FFB is smoother and more linear.
What I find strange is that while driver comes with FFS setting to LIN by default, all the Fanatec suggested settings for all games in this forum are with FFS set to PEAK.
Why Fanatec does not 'deliver' the driver with PEAK as default setting if they think it works better with most games?
I would like to have some feedback from other users that experimented with above setting.
What are your thoughts?
Do you change the setting depending the game you play?
Any news on that issue? I would be willing to test a firmware or even send the wheel in for inspection and testing as I can't use it like that anyway at the moment.
I installed this driver package and I can't find the Property Page anywhere on my PC. Was it left out of this driver? Is there a way to download it directly?
Hi Marcel, I tried "PWBDD_MotorFW_V41_TestExport" on my DD1's motor, and maybe it's all in my head, but I immediately noticed an improvement. Everything feels smoother now, especially on quick direction changes. Can you share a bit about what the tradeoffs are/might be? This seems good. Thanks for continuing to improve this base.

When the V2's are connected the driver UI is frozen, spinning circle.
Will flash 4.29 and try them......

Thanks for the log files, we will check that.

Is maybe the pedal page hidden by this setting?
V2's when used in USB crash driver UI,it fails to start
usually if driver started 1st and then pedals plugged in the UI is ok
but whichever pedal is pressed the handbrake UI goes full and stays that way
pedals show as 2 pedal CSL's in driver UI
a small bug in the Nascar Heat 5
the LED light on the BMW TG2 V1 starts with the last two blue LEDs then the red ones come on and they start flashing and go out
otherwise it seems super
Thanks Marcel and Maurice that worked!
Maurice/Marcel?
I cant reproduce. Same strength as always for me.
This was reported by more users at the time, but no response was given...
i went looking, and this is since 410 version

I've tried a couple of wheels, for me the vibration is as strong as always when I use the test button of the driver.
You maybe did before but can you please list which base and wheel(s) you are having the issue with?
This is what was mentioned in the changelog of the first post and should be improved

DD2/FV2, when I have some spare time I will install previous 410 ( don't remember what was the last before) and try shoot a video and than with 429.
Since all links went broken can you please send me the package before 410?

Hello all,
I'm having issues updating the fanatec drivers on my DD2 base, never had any issues before.
I'm getting an error where after pressing the green update button the below window pops up,any help please?
Thanks

It's now the Fanatec Control Panel.
Hi, I have the exact same problem, I don't know what to do with it anymore, it's terribly annoying during online races, please fix it.
